Sharon Peterson

Peterson, Sharon Lee, age 75, born June 23, 1940, passed away December 10, 2015, due to complications from ovarian cancer. Sharon passed peacefully with family present. Originally from Brainerd, Sharon lived the last 25(+) years in Crosby with her soulmate, Alex Griffin. Along with Alex, Sharon will be deeply missed by her daughter, Shawn Peterson; grandson, Tyler Peterson; sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Schroeder of Salol, MN and Linda (Michael) Burke Sr. of Merrifield, MN; brother, Calvin (Debbie) of Brainerd, MN; along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Peterson and mother, Helen E. Suhn Peterson, commonly referred to as Lolly. She was the oldest of four siblings and much to their dismay, she looked the youngest. Sharon started working in the Crow Wing Counter Recorder’s office in 1968 and was elected County Recorder in November 1978 and served as Recorder from January 1979 – December 1986. She also enjoyed working many years in the Brainerd/Baxter Yellow Book office with a wonderful team. Her passion was her daughter and grandson. She also enjoyed painting, cooking new recipes she saw on the Food Network, playing cards with her family and the Vikings. Game days were very loud in her household. Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00AM at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home-BRAINERD CHAPEL with visitation one hour prior to the service.
