Shirley J. Lintner 73-year-old resident of Brainerd, MN passed away September 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family, at her home. A memorial service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 5 at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Shirley was born on November 22, 1945, on Thanksgiving Day, in Brainerd, MN to Harold and Irene Yde. She graduated from Washington High School and furthered her education at St. Cloud State University and Trenton University in New Jersey, graduating with a degree in physical education and a minor in art. She was united in marriage to Larry Lintner on April 6, 1974 at First Lutheran Church. The couple started North Country Ski Touring and School of Diving in 1975. Shirley worked as a substitute teacher and obtained her master’s degree in education before working as a full-time physical education teacher at Lincoln Elementary for 15 year. Her hobbies included music, organist at Park United Methodist Church, everything to do with water as she was an avid outdoor adventurer. Shirley cherished the time she spent with her family and friends the most. Shirley is survived by her husband, Larry Lintner; children, April (Michael) Fourre, Kari Hanninen, Teresa Sach; sister, Lois Jensen; grandchildren, Gregor, Ayrianna “Lindsey”, Martin, Violet, Baden, and Toryn. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Markson Yde.
