Timothy 'Tim' J. Scharrer

Timothy “Tim” Scharrer, age 52, of Brainerd, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Brainerd.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. A lunch will follow at the church.

Tim was born on January 17, 1973, in Brainerd, MN, to Carl and Shirley (Greer) Scharrer. Following his graduation, he earned an Avionics Diploma. As a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, Tim was proud of his family heritage. He worked for a time in the Williston Oil Field and dedicated over 20 years to a career he loved as a truck driver. Faith was an important part of his life, and he served as a Trustee at Zion Lutheran Church for six years.

Tim’s interests reflected his love of supporting family, being in nature and outdoors, and creative problem solving. He enjoyed camping, wood turning, listening to country music, and spending time with family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of six years, Brenda Scharrer; his beloved fur baby, Belle; his parents, Carl and Shirley; siblings, Jeff (Deb) Scharrer, Jerry (Therese) Scharrer, and Bonnie Scharrer; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Tim is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gordy Jones, and his nephew, Carter John.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nikcevich, the 1st Street oncology clinic and the 18th floor oncology team at St. Mary’s in Duluth for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred. Tim’s family requests that instead of wearing black, please wear a western shirt, jeans and/or boots if you have them to the memorial service.
