Tony K Young

Anthony (Tony) K. Young, 77- year-old resident of Staples, passed away at Lakewood Care Center in Staples on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1947, in Staples, MN to Bertha (Lee) and Patrick Young.

A celebration of life for Tony will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Church of Christ in Staples, with Pastor Barry Klein officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Toby Young, Mort Young, Gwen (Clarence) Schoon, DeeDee Young; granddaughter, Juliana Hernandez.

Tony will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy; children, Kevin (Tracy) Young, Christine Young, Alicia (Rene) Hernandez, Molly Young; grandchildren, Samantha (Shane) Stoffers, Jared Manuel, Jailyn Manuel, Wade Tornow, Thomas Hernandez, Brock Graton, Axel Young, Callie Young; sister, Marcy Young; sisters-in-law; Judy Young, Linda

(Jerry) Huisenga, Debra Strain, brother-in-law, Ron Elifrits, and many nieces and nephews.

Tony grew up on a farm east of Staples until he joined the Army in 1968. He was employed for many years as a bus driver for the Staples Bus Company, and in later years as a truck driver. Tony was a life member of the Church of Christ in Staples where he especially enjoyed Tuesday men's night.
