William (Bill) R Vukelich

William (Bill) Robert Vukelich age 83 of Staples, passed away on August 22, 2023, at the Lakewood Health Care System in Staples. He was born December 26, 1939, in Crosby, Minnesota to Lylah (Randall) and Joe Vukelich Sr.

A visitation will be held at the Taylor Funeral Home in Staples on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 4:00-7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, August 28,2023, at the Staples Alliance Church, 1512 8th ST NE, Staples, Minnesota, a lunch will follow the service at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, Minnesota.

Bill was a very proud 49er and was very active with the Ironworkers Union Local 512. He served on the Staples Fire Department for 23 years, as well as serving on the Local Civil Defense and the Auxiliary Police Department. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; great grandson, Cody; brother, Danny; sister, Lil Rychner; brothers-in-law, Bob Rollins and Bob Rychner; infant sister, Evelyn; and his parents, Lylah and Joe Vukelich.

Bill will be deeply missed by his loving family, children, Chad, Chet (Nina) and Fawnya Day; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Joe Jr. (Shari), Doug (Karen) and Dale; sisters, Judy Rollins, Dixie (Jack) Smith, Monica (Roger) Johnson, Peggy (Brad) Hirschey, and Mona (Donnie) Lambert.
